Regulated products

Certain products may pose a risk to your health or safety. Check out the regulated goods which are prohibited on board our aircraft.

Regulated goods

Although the list is not exhaustive, the products below are all subject to specific regulations.

- Edible oils :
Prohibited in the hold. In the cabin, please see the special conditions for the transportation of liquids below.

- Perfumes and aerosols :
These are allowed in the hold up to a maximum weight of 2 kg or 2 L per person and 0.5 kg or 0.5 L per item.

- Syringes for medical use are allowed in the cabin provided that you have a medical prescription for them (under your own responsibility). Please do not leave them behind in the aircraft. Be sure to store them in your secure containers.

- Cartridges and ammunition for hunting or sporting weapons :
Only permitted in checked baggage, correctly packed in a hard-shell case. The transport of firearms is limited to 5kg (including container) per passenger. You cannot combine ammunition allowances for more than one person into one or more bags.

- Weapons with blades , firearms (kept separate from the ammunition) and any similar object :
Only permitted in checked baggage. Transport of these items is subject to specific authorization and approval is required. For further information, please contact our Reservation Centre.

NB: If you are travelling to Algeria or Mali, your weapon is included in your baggage allowance. If you are travelling to Portugal, Senegal or Lebanon, your weapon is treated as baggage which cannot exceed 23kg.

In both cases, if you exceed the number of pieces of baggage or the baggage allowance authorized on your ticket, you must pay an extra baggage charge.


- Batteries, including lithium batteries, are potentially dangerous when transported without special precautions in a plane. Please see this pdf document to find out more about the transport restrictions and precautions to be observed.
 

- Liquids carried in the cabin :
You can carry liquids in your hand baggage provided that they are:
- a maximum of 100 ml per product,
- placed in a re-sealable plastic bag (of the freezer bag type) with a maximum volume of 1 litre. The bag must be sealed and the items must fit easily inside it. Only one plastic bag per passenger is allowed.

N.B : When making a connecting flight in Paris from a country outside the European Union, you can now keep any duty-free liquids when making the second flight. To do this, you must ask for a sealed bag, either at the airport for any product purchased in the Duty Free zone, or from your air carrier for any product purchased in-flight, accompanied by proof of purchase which must be visible inside the bag.

Prohibited goods

For your own safety, some items are strictly prohibited on board the aircraft. They must never be either in your possession or placed in your baggage.
Food products of animal origin:
Bringing butcher’s meat or bushmeat, meat-based products, milk or milk-based products into the European Union is strictly prohibited.

- Cabin Baggage:
Passengers are not allowed to carry the following items, either in security restricted areas or on board the aircraft :
- R
evolvers, firearms and any other devices which fire projectiles — any device which either could be used or appears likely to be used to cause serious damage by the firing of a projectile
- Devices which have a paralysing effect — devices specially designed to stun or to immobilise
- Objects with a sharp tip or edge — objects with a sharp tip or edge which could be used to cause serious injury
- Work tools — tools which could be used either to cause serious injury or to endanger the safety of the aircraft
- Blunt instruments — objects which could be used to cause serious injury when they are used to strike
- Explosive or incendiary substances and devices — explosive or incendiary substances and devices which could or appear likely to be used to cause serious injury or endanger the safety of the aircraft

An exemption may be granted under the following conditions : if the competent authority has been informed in advance and has given its agreement to the transportation of the item in question,
- if the air carrier has been informed about the passenger and the item which s/he is carrying before the passengers board the aircraft
- if the applicable safety rules are adhered to
- these items must then be stored in a safe place on board the aircraft

- Hold Baggage :
Passengers are not allowed to transport the following items in their hold baggage :
- Explosive or incendiary substances and devices which could be used to cause serious injury or endanger the safety of the aircraft.

An exemption may be granted under the following conditions:
- if the national rules issued by the competent authority allow the transportation of the item in question
- if the applicable safety rules are adhered to.

In compliance with security measures, Aigle Azur systematically refuses to register hold baggage packed with a system that has not been approved by the ADP Group. (SAFE BAG)
