Security and Safety
Security is a priority for Aigle Azur and the airline cooperates directly with the authorities in order to set up and implement the measures required in order to ensure your safety.
Security formality :
The more stringent prevention and monitoring systems currently in force do have an impact upon the conditions for your journey. Thank you for your understanding and please cooperate with any checks which either the authorities or Aigle Azur might ask you to undergo.
Since the introduction of the "Vigipirate" plan in France and similar steps taken by the governments of other countries, there are a lot more security checks. You may be asked to show an identity document on several occasions. There may also be additional random inspections on your luggage.
Once your luggage has been checked in, please go to the departure lounge to complete the police formalities. When flying to certain destinations, the boarding card needs to be filled in and shown at the same time as your travel documents.
Depending on your destination, you need to prepare your travel documents:
- Boarding card
- A valid passport.
- A valid identity card
- An entry visa, if necessary
For all of our destinations outside Europe, a disembarkation card needs to be filled in and handed over to the Border Police when they check your passport.
Please note that following the revision of the Schengen Borders Code, in order to cross borders, all third-country nationals (whether or not they are subject to a visa) must be in possession of a travel document which is valid for a period of at least three months after the date on which the applicant expects to leave the Schengen space, and which must have been issued less than ten years ago.
The importing and exporting of counterfeit goods is a customs offence.
The purchaser:
- is liable to a fine of up to €300,000 and a period of up to three years’ imprisonment, simply for owning a counterfeit product,
- may be endangering his or her health (counterfeit spirits, perfumes and cosmetics),
- is damaging France’s industrial heritage and know-how and financing criminal networks.
Safety formalities:
For both your own safety and that of other passengers, please avoid carrying any hazardous objects or substances prohibited by the regulations on air transportation. Sharp objects such as scissors must be placed in your hold luggage. Although some objects are prohibited in the cabin, there are others which are not allowed either in the cabin or in the hold.
Please find out about this before your departure.
For objects which take up a great deal of space, please contact the airline’s competent departments. It is important that you come to the airport 3 hours before takeoff time (2 hours for flights to Portugal).
