Destination Russia
Russia is an immense country, a land of extremes and a home to a multitude of wonders.
Of course, Moscow and St. Petersburg are the main tourist attractions, but there is also the Golden Ring, the Caucasus, Siberia the home of Lake Baikal or Vladivostok, all of which are well worth a visit. This country is so vast that it is unfortunately impossible to see everything. Both of the aforementioned metropolises are a must-see, and don't forget to take home an iconic Russian Matryoshka doll as a souvenir!
Some must-see places
Moscow, the capital, is home to a large number of monuments. Visit the Kremlin and its treasures. You can relax in the Garden of Alexander with the biggest bell in the world, the Tsar Kolokol. The Red Square and the beautiful Cathedral of Basil-the-Blessed are among the most important symbols of the country.
St. Petersburg is very different but just as attractive. The canals of the Neva, palaces, cathedrals and museums rich delight multitudes of visitors each year. North of Moscow, the Golden Ring is a group of fortified cities encompassing historic monasteries, churches and cathedrals. Between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, the Caucasus is a mythical mountain range encompassing a wide variety of landscapes and cultures. At the end of the Trans-Siberian journey, Vladivostok is an intriguing mixture of Russian and Eastern cultures.
Best time to book your flight?
Russia can be very cold in the north and east. In winter, it is necessary to pack very warm clothes. In the spring, everyone has to deal with melting snow. The best time to visit Moscow or St. Petersburg is between early June and mid-September. In June, the sun barely sets and the days are long. In autumn, nature is in all its splendour, temperatures are not too low, and there are fewer tourists.
